Why Credentials Matter in Weight Loss Medicine

GLP-1 medications like semaglutide and tirzepatide are powerful tools, but they are still prescription medications that need proper medical supervision. The physician overseeing your care should understand how these medications interact with your body at a deep level, not just how to write a prescription.

That is why Washington Trim Clinic chose Dr. Sharma to lead our medical program.

About Dr. Anjmun Sharma, MD

Dr. Sharma holds a Master of Science in Pharmacology from SUNY Buffalo School of Medicine, which means he studied how medications work in the body long before he became a practicing physician. This background is directly relevant to our GLP-1 weight loss programs, where understanding drug interactions, dosing adjustments, and patient response patterns makes a real difference in outcomes.

He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Ross University School of Medicine and completed residency training in both general surgery and family medicine. His surgical training spanned programs at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Manhattan and Howard University Hospital in Washington, DC, before he completed his family medicine residency at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Dr. Sharma is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and holds active medical licenses in multiple states, including Washington. He also maintains Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certifications.

With over 20 years of hands on clinical experience across family practice, occupational medicine, urgent care, and aesthetic medicine, Dr. Sharma brings a level of medical depth that most weight loss clinics simply do not have.

What This Means for Your Care

When you start a treatment plan at Washington Trim Clinic, Dr. Sharma personally reviews your medical history, approves your medication plan, and oversees your progress. Our clinic staff handles your appointments, body composition scans, and ongoing support, while Dr. Sharma ensures every medical decision meets the highest standard of care.

This is not a one size fits all program. Your dosage, medication type, and treatment adjustments are all made with physician level oversight from someone who understands the science behind what you are taking.
